Some are scared to visit hospitals while online consulting is limited to pvt. hospitals
Many non-COVID patients have embraced online consultation, but what has made their plight worse is that government hospitals are not venturing into online consultation on a large scale, said doctors in the city.
Furthermore, most hospitals are treating COVID-19 patients, some are now dedicated centres. People are afraid to go to hospitals where COVID-19 patients are also treated, doctors said.

Hale and hearty so far: Beneficiaries of 2nd Covid vax dose

New Delhi, Feb 13 (IANS) Despite testimonies and experience from peers, the vaccine hesitancy among healthcare workers has continued. The reason for the hesitancy is absence of "medical ritual" for adult vaccination in the country.
"Barring a few exceptions, the vaccines were always administered to children till the Covid-19 pandemic arrived. Now, the introduction of vaccines have generated a lot of curiosity and raised inhibitions," said Chand Wattal, head of Department of Microbiology at the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.
The doctor who received his second dose on Saturday urged people to trust science as vaccines are safe.
Around 1.9 lakh healthcare workers are scheduled to receive their booster shots of Covid vaccines on Saturday post a gap of 28 days after receiving the first jab of the two-dose inoculation regimen.

New Delhi, Feb 4 : The Covid-19 pandemic has taken a toll on timely diagnosis and treatment of chronic diseases, and preventive care for ailments like cancer is one of the worst hit.
However, since the cases of Covid-19 have started to subside gradually, the need for awareness among the patients has multiplied. In lieu of it, the hospitals have geared up to start awareness campaigns to draw patients' attention back on cancer treatment.
Suresh Kumar, Director at Delhi's Lok Nayak Hospital, told IANS that the hospital will start an awareness campaign specifically for cancer patients.

India's biggest coronavirus vaccination drive took another step after it began inoculation of 2 crore frontline workers across the nation on Thursday.
Two hospitals in Delhi's Shahdara district of the national capital - Delhi State Cancer Institute and Swami Dayanand hospitals - have started vaccinating many essential workers.
