The National Grid yesterday called off a plan to activate an emergency initiative to pay consumers to use less energy at peak times to help ration energy supplies.
Supplies are set to be tight at peak hour, so the grid could ask households to reduce the amount of energy they use.
The utility company had said it would announce at 2.30pm today whether it would begin the first ever live run of its Demand Flexibility Service from tomorrow.
