Sturgis officials OK equipment purchases, sale
Sturgis Journal After lengthy discussion Wednesday, Sturgis City Commission voted by a narrow margin to purchase a new skid-steer for the electric department. The commission voted 5-4 to purchase a John Deere 325G unit for just over $63,600. Commissioners voiced concerns about the cost, for which $58,500 was budgeted, and that there is a perception the recommendation was made automatically due to John Deere's reputation as being "top of the line."
