The cold wave coupled with dense fog sweeping across the country is severely disrupting all modes of communications, including waterways and highways, causing untold sufferings for thousands of passengers and transport workers.
Hundreds of motor vehicles, mostly passenger buses and private cars, have got stranded at Daulatdia-Paturia and Shimulia-Banglabazar ferry ghats, major river channels in the country.
The vehicles have been waiting on both sides of the ferry ghats for hours to cross the river Padma as dense fog is badly disrupting the ferry movement on both the river channels. ....
