DoTr, LTO agree to defer Child Car Seat Law implementation

“Both the DOTr and LTO are in agreement that a deferment of the full implementation or enforcement of this new rule is warranted, especially given our current economic situation amid this still raging pandemic,” Libiran said Tuesday.
While Libiran noted that the law is considered in effect as of today, they would not be strictly imposing the fines or penalties stemming from its violation.
According to LTO Asec. Edgar Galvante, violators will initially be warned and given information materials about the law. Meanwhile, issuances of fines or the imposition of driver’s license demerit points may be done in three to six months, he said. ....
