The DC said that the Harike Pattan barrage, located at the confluence of the Sutlej and Beas rivers, had been opened to ensure that the water level in the Mand area remained under control.
The visit comes following reports from villages situated near the Mand area about increasing water level in the river
Deputy Commissioner, Kapurthala, Vishesh Sarangal on Thursday reviewed flood prevention arrangements at the Dhusi Dam, Beas river, Dhilwan Complex, Kammewal Complex, Baguana Complex, Dera Hari Singh Complex, Dhusi Dam of Baupur Island Complex under “Flood Season”.
