CHICAGO (AP) — Luke Richardson is the new coach of the Chicago Blackhawks, stepping into a tricky rebuilding process for one of the NHL's marquee franchises.
The Chicago Blackhawks on Monday officially named Luke Richardson as their new head coach.
Over the next few seasons, the Hawks’ new coach will need to accept that losing is inevitable but avoid embracing losing or perpetuating a losing culture.
Richardson, formerly an assistant for the Canadiens, Islanders and Senators, will be the 40th head coach in Hawks franchise history. Interim coach Derek King will not remain in the position.
The former NHL defenseman has been an assistant on Montreal's coaching staff.
