Rail group describe planned ticket price rise as 'against common sense'
Colchester rail UNIONS have said a hike in rail season ticket costs next year “flies in the face of common sense”. Ticket prices will increase by an average of 2.6 per cent from March 1, a figure reached by applying July’s Retail Prices Index measure of inflation plus one per cent. Rail minister Chris Heaton-Harris said the rise reflected “unprecedented taxpayer support” for rail this year amid the coronavirus pandemic.
