As the market frenzy slows down, Grace Eze, 53, monitors how her loads of plantains are being loaded into a yellow Volkswagen car. Like other women, who come to the Obinto Ihechiowa market in the Arochukwu Local Government Area of Abia State, Grace dreads the journey back home. Every five days she comes to the market, and she arms herself with some painkillers, not because of any ailment but due to the horrific experience of travelling on the Arochukwu-Ohafia road that has now become a near-death trap.
