i think the solution is multifactorial. for one, we need to address the social determinants of health. what is happening in the community level, the air that you breathe, the water that you drink, the food access. how is the stress of living? for instance, if you re in georgia, and your black woman you are three times more likely to be evicted between your second and third trimester and then if you are white. what does that stress to the body again? then we have to think about what are the protocols in place in the hospital? if black women and children are dying more, why are they re not race specific protocols in place to keep them alive? why do we not have more access for midwives to provide for them out of the community just check in on them so that as we saw in this case here, before they recognized that this woman was no longer alive. these are tangible things that we can do, and we must do, if we truly want to make the united states of america the greatest country on this ....
