NEW ORLEANS, La. - Behind a balanced offense and 11 blocks, the Clemson Tigers defeated Houston Christian on Thursday afternoon to open the Tulane Invitational. The 3-1 victory (25-23, 12-25, 25-20, 25-20) moves the Tigers to 7-3 on the season.The Tigers were led by graduate Adria Powell who finished with 13 points after recording eight kills and six blocks (two solo, four assisted). GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Redshirt freshman Katie Hurta finished with a career-high 19 kills, and freshman Kennedy Wagner added 13, as Clemson (6-3) defeated Sacramento State (5-3) in five sets (25-19, 16-25, 21-25, 25-21, 15-13) on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers also clocked 10 aces, including three from Adria Powell, two from Wagner, Mckenna Slavik and Mckenna Gildon and one from Mia McGrath.
