Ohio State is hoping it has figured out the proper way to respond after an emotional victory over a ranked team. “We can’t let last week affect this week,” Ohio State coach Ryan Day said. The Buckeyes survived a minor letdown in a similar situation earlier this season.

List of first-year QB starters in Big Ten still changing
As a first-year starting quarterback, Ohio State's Kyle McCord has plenty of company in the Big Ten. There were new starters throughout the conference to start the season and, in some cases, even newer starters have supplanted them. Under the tutelage of coach Ryan Day, McCord has earned his stripes and the Buckeyes are 7-0 (4-0 Big Ten) after Saturday’s 20-12 win over previously beaten Penn State. Other first-year starters having some success include Penn State's Drew Allar, Braedyn Locke at Wisconsin, and Gavin Wimsatt, who has already gotten Rutgers bowl eligible.
