Share Aquilla Hires Heavy Artillery To Lead Athletic Department Aquilla Independent School District announced last week that Dewaine Lee will be the new athletic director and head football coach for the Cougars. Lee has spent the last 18 seasons at Strawn High School with state championships in football in 2003 and 2008 and back-to-back state titles in 2017 and 2018. His Greyhound football teams fell short of making the playoffs only twice in his tenure, in 2014 and 2015. Under Lee s direction, Strawn went 40-12 in the post season. The veteran coach will bring a handful of staff members to Aquilla. Joining will be his wife, Denise Lee, leading the girls’ athletics, as well as Jose Cervantes and John Eli to assist in football and take on other coaching duties. ....
