Aloki's premises buzzed with an unusual crowd a rare sight for any event in Dhaka. This was the second appearance of the Dhaka Makers event at Aloki on Gulshan-Tejgaon Link Road, with the view of supporting and nurturing the rich arts and crafts culture of Dhaka. Workshops were organised that helped people reconnect to rustic Bengal, and also to come closer to nature.
“Dhaka Makers”, an independent arts and crafts festival, is a vibrant platform for local artistes to showcase their creativity and connect with like-minded individuals. During my recent visit to the second edition of the event, I was impressed by the diverse range of stalls that highlighted a variety of Bangladeshi artworks.
Held at Aloki in the capital’s Gulshan-Tejgaon link road, Dhaka Makers 2 saw a significant focus on the skill development of the attendees, with various workshops including crafting, drawing, filmmaking, and much more – scheduled over the four-day long event.
