Steven Lee Mathiason Steven Lee Mathiason, 66, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at 4000 Valley Senior Living on 42nd Woodside Village. Steve was born in Grand Forks, ND, on May 21, 1954, the son of Elmer & Irene (Brenna) Mathiason. Steve attended grade school at Americus 23 in rural Thompson. He graduated from Thompson Public School in 1972. As a boy Steve was involved in the 4H Club where he showed his cows alongside his dad.
