A hearing for a Yuba City woman charged with murder was continued a week due to her attorney being ill, according to Sutter County Deputy District Attorney Diego Heimlich. Constance Addison is headed to trial in January for the murder of 13-year-old Alec Flores, of Yuba City. Addison allegedly hit Flores with her car while Flores walked to school on Oct. 7, 2019. Former Sutter County employee pleads no contest to embezzlement

A former Sutter County Sheriff’s dispatcher pleaded no contest to felony embezzlement and making a false statement to obtain aid. Sara Jeanette Barber, of Live Oak, was arrested in December 2019 for offenses that allegedly took place between June 2017 and July 2019. Sutter County Superior Court Judge Laura Davis denied a motion to suppress evidence presented at the preliminary hearing against a Chico man charged with driving under the influence and hit-and-run that seriously injured a California Highway Patrol officer.
