The President’s decision to remove Iryna Venediktova from the position of the Prosecutor General and suspend Ivan Bakanov from his duties as the Chief of the Security Service of Ukraine does not mean their dismissal. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during an overnight speech Friday that he has demoted two of his own generals, describing them as "traitors."
Zelenskyy did not elaborate on what prompted the removal of the intelligence officers, one of whom has ties to the fallen Ukrainian city of Kherson. But he vowed traitors would "all be punished."
