HTC announces VIVE Pro 2 VR headset with 5K/120Hz display

Today, HTC announced its latest flagship VR headset – the HTC VIVE Pro 2. The new headset looks very similar to the original Vive Pro, but introduces several improvements, including higher resolution displays with higher refresh rates.
The Vive Pro 2 features a 5K resolution display, so 2.5K per eye resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate to match the Valve Index. HTC has also improved the field of view, offering 120 degrees FoV thanks to a dual-stacked lens design. Chris Burns - May 11, 2021, 11:37am CDT
HTC just revealed the HTC VIVE Pro 2, complete with options for upgrades. This new headset will be sold in at least two packages – one with the whole “full-kit” experience, the other with the headset alone. This should allow those users who already own a VIVE Pro (the first one) to avoid paying maximum cash for the parts they already own – and likely still already have installed at home.
The new HTC VIVE Pro 2 has a 5K resolution display (2.5K to each eye) with a 120Hz image refresh rate. This device has a 120-degree field of view (FOV), courtesy of the device’s 2x stacked-lens design. The display works with fast-switching panel tech and “real RGB sub-pixels” too. ....

HTC VIVE reveals the VIVE Pro 2, featuring a 5K resolution display, a 120 Hz refresh rate and a 120-degree field of view | Business News

HTC VIVE  has today revealed the VIVE Pro 2.
The VIVE Pro 2 features 5K resolution display, with 2.5K to each eye, along with a 120 Hz refresh rate, and fast-switching panel with real RGB sub-pixels. The field of view has increased to 120 degrees, thanks to the VIVE Pro 2’s new bespoke dual stacked-lens design. This reduces motion blur, and the ‘screen door effect’ is virtually eliminated.

As the quality of virtual reality hardware improves, so too does the immersion. while the potential for nausea is hopefully stifled. That’s why we’re thrilled to see the new HTC Vive Pro 2 revealed. Boasting a 5K resolution screen running at a super-smooth 120Hz, the PC-driven Vive Pro 2 should cut down on queasiness as it amplifies smooth, 360-degree gaming experiences. It also supports lossless Display Stream Compression (DSC) and promises “minimal motion blur.” We can expect an array of slight fit and comfort enhancements too, hopefully making this the kind of headset we’d be happy to keep on for long play sessions. It’s rolling out on 4 June at £719 for the headset alone and £1,299 for a full set with base stations and controllers. HTC also revealed the standalone Vive Foc ....
