Our Correspondent Imphal, July 14 (EMN): Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on July 14 handed over cheques amounting to INR 5 lakh each to District Youth Affairs and sports officers of 16 districts of Manipur to start the functioning of the District Level Khelo India Centre. Speaking on the occasion held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Biren Singh stated that the Ministry of Sports, Government of India has taken up initiative to establish 1000 Khelo India Centres across the Country under the Khelo India programme. He said archery, athletics, boxing, and badminton, cycling, fencing, and hockey, judo, rowing, and shooting, swimming, table tennis, and weightlifting, wrestling, football and traditional sports is now included as identified sports disciplines under the Khelo India Centre.
