"Floridians should expect that this storm will be a major Cat 3+ hurricane, so please prepare accordingly," Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said.
Idalia will bring impacts to the Central Florida region on Tuesday and Wednesday. Most, if not all the viewing area, will experience very gusty winds, heavy rain and a tornado threat during this time.
Tropical Storm Idalia is expected to become a dangerous Cat. 3 hurricane before making landfall in Florida later this week, according to the National Hurricane Center. Impacts from the storm could be felt in Central Florida as early as Tuesday.
Forecasters predict Invest 93L will intensify into a tropical depression over the weekend and continue to strengthen as it moves northward into the eastern Gulf of Mexico.
