Tamil Nadu Finance Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan on Saturday responded to an audio tape released by the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), which claimed that he purportedly spoke about the alleged corruption inside the DMK with a journalist. PTR claimed the audo tape was fabricated.
DMK MP TR Baalu has sent a legal notice on Thursday to Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president K Annamalai alleging defamation after he released his video clip 'DMK Files' on April 14 that accused TR Baalu and his family members of having unaccounted assets.
Annamalai released ‘DMK files’ on April 14, making graft allegations against the ruling DMK leaders, including Chief Minister MK Stalin and their family members. DMK organising secretary RS Bharathi had already sent Annamalai a notice seeking Rs 500 crore for his allegations against the chief minister.
From details of the DMK’s properties to alleged kickbacks, the BJP leader has levelled serious accusations against the party and Tamil Nadu CM. But, the DMK has dismissed these as “defamatory, scandalous and motivated statements”.
