In Memoriam — Dogan Cuceloglu

Dogan Cuceloglu, who worked in the international education and exchange office from 1984-96, died Feb. 16.
He served as the lead researcher in working with the emerging Vietnamese student population, revealing how lonely and lost many of these students were at that time. His work brought national attention to the issue and led to the formation of the Cal State Fullerton Intercultural Development Center, which served immigrant and refugee students for many years. 
In 1996, Cuceloglu returned to his native country of Turkey, where he continued to write books focusing on developing healthy family dynamics and support for Turkish young people in traditional families. He also hosted a weekly television show and filled lecture halls with hundreds of listeners.
