Your Letters: Feb. 19, 2021 Reader Submissions A dollar down Woody Guthrie wrote a very poignant song about debt called “A Dollar Down and a Dollar a Week.” This song has been recorded in many variants and my most-favorite lyric was, “You can seek whatever you want for a dollar down and a dollar a week.” The lesson taught in these lyrics is that when you go into debt there is a very high price paid to get out of debt.
