Battle Creek businesses offered safety net through GoFundMe campaigns

Lori Leiter had no idea her daughter had reached out to the community for a lifeline.
Leiter owns The Dolphin Lounge with her husband Kevin. The couple was surprised when their daughter, Erika Carlson, created a GoFundMe campaign on Jan. 14 to help support the bar her family has owned since 1983.
It was out of the kindness of her heart, Leiter said. ....
