protect his documents under that clause. we will have to see if that works. here is what the democrats have to decide right away, are they going to subpoena jordan and perry, and if they don t comply with those subpoenas are they going to hold them in contempt and refer them to the justice department for contempt of congress? those are huge decisions and we will have to see what they do and they re going to have to make a decision quickly because this investigation is only going to last this year if republicans take the house majority. but, jake, he s also saying i want an investigation into what nancy pelosi knew. why don t democrats say, fine, we will show you ours if you show us yours? reporter: that s a good question. i mean, i m not sure what exactly he wants to have an investigation into nancy pelosi, i think he s suggesting that there wasn t enough police presence or there wasn t enough national guard. that s nonsense. reporter: it s nonsense for the most part, yeah, it
school gets the request, they have 30 days to remove the book, and for every day that that book is not removed, there s a $10,000 fine for that school, and the parent can seek compensation for the attorneys fees and court costs. i mean, you know, this is something that republicans are seeing as effective, that galvanizes their folks, but i think it s also why it s important to continue to have while we re having the conversation about parents rights, we need to be talking to all parents and not just the parents republicans are seeking to target because education is perennially an issue for voters but what that is varies depending on which voters we re talking about. why don t the democrats seize the mantle of being the party for parents rights, to know they can go to their job, whether it s at home or an office, because the schools will be hope, because masks are there to protect kids. why don t democrats say, i mean, the whole thing about books boggles my mind because only people
pattern for this administration to whatever they want and can t get through the normal process? they re going to say, okay, we ll veto the budget. the next round of spending bills. that s why this is so important. this issue is bigger than simply the wall or the $5 billion. but the democrats are do you think the democrats are somehow misplaying their hand here? the president has waffled so much on what even a wall is. so why don t democrats say, look, you were part of a bill, a bipartisan bill where you offered $25 billion for border security and now the democrats don t want to give him $5 billion? the problem is, there s no telling where it will stop. and you have to remember that $25 billion was a full solution to the daca problem. that was the deal. that was the compromise. the white house had the wall in their hands, and they couldn t take yes for an answer, even though it involved daca which is something they said they wanted.
