What did it look like to you? >> the past week i've been flying on noaa's gulfstream 4, our high-altitude surveillance jet. so we've been flying up above, around and in front of dorian sampling the high-altitude winds steering where the storm is. in a few days i'll swap crews and go onboard of the orion and actually be flying between 8:,00 to 10,000 feet and into the eye. i've flown that aircraft before. being inside that is like being in a roller coaster. a lot of vibration, a lot of turbulence. once you get in that eye, it's crystal clear, blue skies above you and it's really other worldly. ...
