I READ with interest the letter from Rev Paul A Newman of April 7 complaining about why recyclable beach waste was not being separated by contractors and volunteer litter pickers. As founder of our local voluntary litter picking group, Dorset Devils we are extremely keen for as much waste to be recycled as possible. Unfortunately, due to extremely high rates of contaminated litter being placed into the beach front recycle bins by beach users, bin collections now combine both general and recycle waste together.
