Casting confirmed for adaptation of novel 'My Name is Leon'

Martin will play the lead role of Leon, a 9-year-old mixed race boy who is on a quest to reunite his family after being separated from his blonde, blue-eyed baby brother.
Production has begun on the television film, which is set in 1980s Birmingham, England.
My Name is Leon is produced by Douglas Road Productions in association with Tiger Aspect Productions, Ringside Studios and Vicarious Productions for BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
Lynette Linton will be making her directorial debut, based off a script by Shola Amoo.

ITV’s Head of Drama, Polly Hill, has commissioned life affirming drama, Three Little Birds, written by Sir Lenny Henry, inspired by his mother’s stories about leaving Jamaica in the 1950’s for Great Britain, which became her lifelong home and where she raised her family.
Sir Lenny has written each of the drama’s six fictional episodes, which his production company, Douglas Road Productions will produce in association with Tiger Aspect Productions. Both companies are part of the Banijay UK group.
