A former National Australia Bank chief-of-staff who participated in a large-scale bank fraud scheme where she approved bloated invoices in return for kickbacks, says she does not understand why she became involved, a court has heard.
The scheme unravelled for Rosemary Rogers when a whistle-blower sent a letter to banking executives outlining that she been receiving money and gifts from Human Group chief executive and Rogers’ co-accused, Helen Rosamond, over a number of years.
Former NAB staffer Rosemary Rogers faces multiple counts of dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception and corruptly receiving benefits of varying amounts of money.
