Lt Governor addresses the valedictory session of multi-stakeholder convention on holistic development of agriculture & allied sectors in J&K UT

Srinagar, July 19 (Scoop News)- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today addressed the valedictory session of multi-stakeholder convention on holistic development of agriculture & allied sectors in J&K, at SKICC Srinagar.
Appreciating the organisers for the historic convention, the Lt Governor said that such efforts will deepen our understanding on critical gaps and steps required for transforming and rejuvenating the main pillar of our economy.
Deliberations among eminent agricultural scientists, policy planners, policy makers, academia and farmers will lead to the formulation of a futuristic roadmap for rapid growth in agriculture and allied sector, the Lt Governor added.

Chief Secretary throws open Tulip garden to public; Inaugurates E-ticketing

Srinagar, March 23 (Scoop News)-Asia's largest Tulip garden on the foothills of Zabarwan hills in Srinagar was thrown open for public, marking the beginning of new tourism season in Kashmir region.
Chief Secretary, Dr Arun Kumar Mehta, declared the garden open in presence of senior officers from Floriculture department, Tourism department, J&K Bank and a large number of tourists, who had come from different parts of the country besides locals.
Chief Secretary, while speaking on the occasion, stated that the government is expecting arrival of heavy tourist influx this year as compared to last year. “The later part of 2021 had broken past records of tourist arrival to the region and we are optimistic of an incredible tourism boom this year also.

Lt Governor reviews progress towards financial inclusion by banks in J&K

Jammu,February, 22(Scoop News)- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today reviewed the progress towards financial inclusion by banks in J&K with Sh. MK Jain, Deputy Governor RBI, Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary and other officials.
The Lt Governor shared the vision of the UT Government for extending the banking and financial services to the doorsteps of the people of J&K.
Efforts are being made to enable far-flung areas of rural interiors to become fully connected with financial sector, said the Lt Governor.
To broaden the social base of development, we are enhancing people's access to financial products, promotion of 'One District One Product', institutional credit to women, youth, SMEs, handicrafts, horticulture and various other priority sectors for effective contribution to growth processes of the UT, the Lt Governor added.
