Pokémon Go and Pokémon Sleep show there’s more appetite than ever for mobile fitness games
The Pokémon Company announced this week they have made Pokémon Sleep available in the United States, for both iOS and Android.
“Just like Pokémon Go gamified walking, we want to gamify sleep.” That’s the unofficial explanation for Pokémon Sleep, the newest mobile game to be released in the Pokémon franchise. It’s expected to debut sometime this summer, and io9 got a chance to try it at a press event a few weeks ago.
Sure, gamifying sleep seems innocuous, but what do we truly gain from making rest part of your daily entertainment?
Pokémon Sleep is an app that wants to help you get into better sleep habits by rewarding you with Pokémon encounters. It might just work.
