This local organization helped dialysis patients continue vital treatments early in the pandemic
The first year of the pandemic was deadly for dialysis patients. Their treatment requires traveling to a facility three times a week and sitting in a room with other patients for hours. The National Kidney Foundation of Hawaii says it invested in testing early in the pandemic and established a transportation system for COVID-positive patients.
