The attack took place under the Padhuva police limits, on Wednesday night when the man had gone to the fields in DBZ to collect fodder.
Reports said that his wife, Sukhi Devi, and other farmers working in the fields raised an alarm and the villagers chased the tiger with sticks and clubs, following which the tiger disappeared into another field
The tigress was unable to hunt or move properly which subsequently led to its death, says the official.
