Play for P.I.N.K. raises over $47,000 for research By DUNES WGA - | Apr 7, 2021 PHOTO PROVIDED Men’s division winners Maynard Luterman, Brad Byers, Paul Munn and Ed Ciskowski. It was a picture perfect morning on March 26 at the Dunes Golf and Tennis Club as 68 golfers dressed in pink teed-off in the Dunes Women’s Golf Association’s Play for P.I.N.K. tournament. Although half the field of previous years due to COVID safety policies, the generosity of the local business community and individuals made the event a success, organizers reported. The winning teams are: Ed Ciskowski, Brad Byers, Paul Munns and Maynard Luterman in the men’s division; Joni Luterman, Gay Nichols, Maureen O’Brien, and Maureen Saage in the women’s division; and Kevin and Joie Steel with Teresa and Jake Miller in the mixed division.

Committee announced that the Sanibel Captiva Community Bank will again be a major sponsor of the Dunes Women’s Golf Association’s annual Play for P.I.N.K. fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The tourney will be held on March 27 at 8:30 a.m. at the Dunes Golf and Tennis Club on Sanibel. Open to 64 golfers, players can buy mulligans, raffle tickets and pay-the-pro tickets and participate in a putting contest at the conclusion of their round. Prizes will be awarded to the first place men’s, women’s, and mixed teams. Golfers will enjoy a luncheon in the pavilion. A virtual silent auction will take place on March 24-27; the items can be previewed starting March 20. Thanks to the support of the Estée Lauder Foundation, 100 percent of funds raised go to breast cancer research.

Play for P.I.N.K. to benefit breast cancer research By Staff | Feb 3, 2021 PHOTO PROVIDED The Dunes Women’s Golf Association is making plans for its annual Play for P.I.N.K. fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, which will be held on March 27 at the Dunes Golf and Tennis Club on Sanibel. With support from financial institutions, private foundations, artists and businesses, more than $36,000 was raised at last year’s tournament and donated to the foundation. Thanks to the support of the Estée Lauder Foundation, 100 percent of funds raised go to breast cancer research. The association reported that this year’s silent auction and raffles will be modified due to COVID-19.
