The preliminary injunction granted Monday is a win for opponents of the proposed rendering plant, but they still want Gadsden Council to pull the plug.

A preliminary hearing in a case challenging a proposed rendering plant in Gadsden will continue on Thursday after a full day of testimony on Monday.  Testimony will resume at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, although Etowah County Circuit Judge George Day said the hearing could be pushed up to 9 a.m. if a morning hearing gets canceled. Attorney Christie Knowles on Thursday in a social media post struck back at Gadsden Mayor Sherman Guyton's comments during Tuesday's City Council meeting. Knowles said Guyton "essentially accused" her or her law firm of using a computer to steal "confidential" documents linked to a proposed Pilgrim's Pride rendering plant in Gadsden.
