Dynamic Homes donated about 625 tons of scrap wood to Bergen's Greenhouse in Detroit Lakes to be used to partially heat their facility through the winter. The greenhouse's two-story biomass boiler uses about 30,000 pounds of finely graded wood chips per day to heat about four acres of coverage area in the 12-acre facility, of which temperature control plays a crucial role as the garden giant ships thousands of poinsettias during the holiday season.
Lakeshirts and Dynamic Homes were two of six Detroit Lakes-area businesses that participated in the manufacturing job fair on Thursday, Oct. 7, sponsored by the Detroit Lakes Regional Chamber of Commerce. The businesses opened their doors to the public for tours through each of their facilities and included on-site job interviews upon completion of the tour for any interested parties.
Manufacturing companies paid out about $1.5 billion in total payroll in the region last year, with average annual wages of just under $55,000.
