The prosperity gospel as applied to health I recently heard a story about a woman who saw a book in a thrift store with a title that declared that Jesus As a child, I had been taught that sometimes bad things happen to us because we are Christians. I had understood that following Jesus meant we should expect to be persecuted for our faith, rather than expecting our lives to be free of challenges.
