"Game On," an event combining fun activities for men and boys with a celebration of Christian faith, will be held Saturday, May 1, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the newly-opened FUSE District stadium in downtown Gastonia. Sponsoring the gathering is Kingdom Men, an affiliation of a couple of dozen Gaston County churches with a simple goal: "Empowering Men to Become More Like Jesus." "That's really what it's all about," said Pastor Joe Bell of the Eastside Church of the Nazarene, one of the sponsoring churches. "Helping boys, teens, and men to be more like Jesus in their daily lives." The new stadium will provide the perfect venue for the event, Bell said, because it is big enough to allow participants to "spread out and not be any closer to each other than they want to be."
