To foster active learning, we must go beyond identifying critical thinking as an instructional strategy to making critical thinking intense in schools, colleges, and universities. We must introduce the subject of critical reasoning in primary and secondary schools. It is necessary to have critical thinking as a stand-alone discipline. Critical thinking must become a foundational subject that compliments other mental habits, such as verbal and quantitative reasoning in primary schools.

The procurement of fake degrees or certificates shows how morally bankrupt some Nigerians are. This menace is the reason our certificates are no longer commanding respect in the private sector and even abroad. There are a significant number of Nigerians who cannot write simple and correct sentences despite claiming to have graduated from reputable tertiary institutions. It is scary when someone procures a fake degree to work as an engineer, doctor or in other medical science professions which have to do with human lives.

Governor Uba Sani, as a beneficiary of the foresight exhibited by past leaders, is urged to intervene and protect the institution from this encroachment. The letter draws a parallel with the actions of the previous administration, which, despite its draconian reputation, rejected a similar suggestion to carve the land during its tenure.

The North is suffering and needs help from all quarters. The politicians must adjust to the decorum and heal the worm that eats the integrity of the region for peace, harmony and progress to reign like before. The religious, traditional and community leaders should have the people in the heart and put themselves in the shoes of the people as the gain of this world never last forever.

Students are not just passive recipients of education; they are active participants in shaping Nigeria’s destiny. Their unwavering enthusiasm, innovative spirit, and determination to create positive change make them indispensable partners in the country’s journey towards development. Empowering, supporting, and amplifying the voices of students will undoubtedly steer Nigeria towards a brighter, more inclusive, and prosperous future.
