Fresh off a one year sabbatical, Arthur Ahbez makes his return to society in the blistering heat of January for a summer tour! Ahbez took leave of NZ mid 2019 to explore the primeval lands of Eastern Europe and pursue new creative dimensions. Bathing in this rich cultural stew and exploring new realms of focus, Ahbez made new tracks in his development as a musician and songwriter, and now eagerly awaits to share the fruits of his labor.
Reluctantly leaving his short lived new life in Prague, Ahbez safely returned to the antipodes at the beginning of 2020 with a dozen distinctly original new songs. His departure from DIY recording will see the release of a studio album recorded with his band The Flaming Ahbez sometime in 2021, while reconnecting with his fan-base in the summer tour and debuting new material.

Iconic - (the iconic-ist?!) Dunedin pop group The Chills awaken from a short but memorable slumber just in time to traverse a few select spots in the North Island to help revellers shake off their Xmas pudding jiggles. Including festival performances at New Plymouth's Festival of Lights; a headline spot at the well-loved annual Eggfest at Eggsentric Cafe nestled in the Coromandel (with RACING, KITA and DJ LUCOLA); as well as ticketed shows in Raglan joined by very special guest Reb Fountain and band, and Leigh Sawmill, with Pōneke rising stars Kita.  The band have been busy in 2020, hunkering down and forging their latest creation; an album set for a 2021 release as a follow up to 2018's critically lauded Snow Bound.

For the fifth year running, Banished Music presents Eggfest at the one and only Eggsentric Cafe in the Coromandel.  This year's iteration features iconic Dunedin pop group The Chills, Auckland's rock groove juggernaut Racing, Pōneke's folk-soul storytelling trio Kita and DJ of mirth and mystery Lucola.

It’s the combination of this and the consistent quality of their songs which have established The Chills as one of the most well-known New Zealand groups to date.
