For April-September, India's eight core industries have posted a growth of 7.8 percent, down from 9.8 percent in the first half of 2022-23
The production growth of eight infrastructure sectors -- coal, crude oil, natural gas, refinery products, fertiliser, steel, cement and electricity -- was 9.8 per cent during April-August this fiscal, compared to 19.4 per cent a year ago.
From April 2021 to March 2022, the cumulative growth of the index was 10.4% compared to the previous fiscal, driven by steel, cement, and natural gas.
Eight core industries of the country grew 2.2 per cent in January, helping expansion in the production of coal, refinery products and electricity, official data released on Friday showed.
The combined index of 8 core industries stood at 136.2 in October 2021, which increased by 7.5% (provisional) as compared to October 2020
