Some rides back open at SeaWorld San Diego and last updated 2021-04-12 19:44:51-04 SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Some rides at SeaWorld San Diego finally reopened on Monday after being closed for more than a year. The popular Electric Eel and Tentacle Twirl are back up and running, so are the smaller rides in the Sesame Street Bay of Play. SeaWorld is taking a phased approach to reopening rides. Manta is scheduled to reopen in the coming weeks. Other rides like Riptide Rescue, Shipwreck Rescue and Journey to Atlantis are still closed, but set to reopen by the warmer summer months.

SeaWorld’s Electric Eel attraction, which is described by the theme park as the “tallest, fastest” roller coaster in San Diego, is among the various rides reopening. The Tentacle Twirl, Octarock and Sea Dragon Drop will all reopen Monday, as well. As for young children, the park’s Sesame Street Bay of Play offers tike-sized rides so little ones can join in on the family fun.
