Abstract To improve electrical conductivity of the carbon-based pantograph strip, a sliding contact material of pyrolytic carbon (PyC) coated-copper foam/carbon composite was fabricated by chemical vapor deposition technology, followed by densifying processes of furan resin impregnation and carbonization.
