The Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) and state authorities are collaborating to support domestic manufacturing of refrigerators to hold Covid-19 vaccines at 2-8 degrees Celsius, building them at half the price of imported cold storage facilities.
The local versions are expected to be launched next month to serve the government plan to distribute 2 million doses of vaccines from February to April, said FTI chairman Supant Mongkolsuthree.
The pharmacy fridge production will support the medical equipment business, helping pave the way for the country to be a medical industry hub, he said. ....

Thailand gets a huge boost from robotics and automation investment

BANGKOK (The Nation/ANN): A Cabinet meeting on Dec 22 acknowledged the progress in the plan to develop robotics and automation across a variety of key sectors presented by the Industry Ministry, government deputy spokeswoman Ratchada Thanadirek said on Wednesday (Dec 23).
“The plan had been proposed by the Industry Ministry in early 2018. In the past three years there has been approximately Bt167 billion of investment in robotics and automation in key industries including food manufacturing, electrical and electronics, automotive and petrochemicals, ” she said.
“Up to 92 business operators have invested Bt13.98 billion in upgrading their manufacturing facilities to use robots and automation systems. ....
