Ketogenic diet reduces alcohol withdrawal symptoms in humans and alcohol intake in rodents
Participants and screening Within 2 days of admission at the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism inpatient unit, n = 53 inpatients were randomized into the study while receiving treatment as usual. Thirty-three patients completed 3 weeks of diet intervention ( n = 19 KD, n = 14 SA), and 20 patients withdrew.
