Easter for Eli The Blair County nonprofit Easter for Eli is gearing up for its seventh year. The event is held in honor of 3-year-old Eli Garrett, who lost his battle to cancer in 2009. COVID forced some changes to the effort last year, as hospitals were not permitting donations, and they couldn’t deliver any baskets. This year, approximately 75 percent of hospitals and Ronald McDonald Houses, are allowing the donations, but they need to be there seven days in advance to allow for decontamination measures.
