Department to spend €9m on ecologists to reduce forestry licence backlog
Some 73pc of current forestry applications need further assessment to ensure the sites meet the stringent rules of the new Forestry Programme, while the Department of Agriculture is looking to spend €9m on ecology services to assist in implementing the scheme.
