Obviously, a very difficult situation all the way around. >> congressman, while i have you, i want to quickly get your comment on this new book by bob woodward called "peril" in which he reports that general milley was so worried by president trump's unhinged behavior after the election that he called a secret meeting in his pentagon office of top military brass and said to them, if you get calls, no matter who they are from, there's a process here, there's a procedure. no matter what you told, you do the procedure. you do the process and i'm part of the procedure. meaning, he didn't want them...

Afghanistan by january 15th, before trump's presidency is over. there's just one problem. no one on the national security team, no one at the pentagon knew that this had been drafted and signed. it had been done by two trump loyalists at the white house. they had done an end run around the national security team. they were completely blind sided. so milley decides he's going to go over a no notice surprise visit to the white house, and he confronts national security adviser robert o'brien who says, i don't know anything about this either. and milley says to him, quote, what do you mean you hav...

Basically this end run around the commander in chief? >> well, i'm not sure i would call it an end run, alisyn. i think general milley took some very prudent measures. you know, as a former member of the joint staff, the j7, i remember when the chairman would pull all of the staff officers in, would pull all of the brigadier generals, the one stars that were working the shift in the national military command center, as jamie just said, and say, hey, we're in a tense -- and this was during the start of the afghan war. we are in a tense situation, make sure your reporting is right, make sure the...

Voting age. you don't get to determine freedom of choice, not for you, ladies. >> do you want to own this end runaround and what should be constitutionally correct if possible if democrats one day want to do a similar law for taking guns? if they say we can do this with guns? the supreme court won't be able to challenge this and go around and get your guns. it's a hypothetical. that's what conservatives should really be concerned about is what does this set for a precedent for? are you setting a precedent in the future? i know you think it's a win when it comes to roe v wade but also a win for...

"don lemon tonight" starts with its big star, d lemon, right now. d is very familiar with this idea. you know, what do you want to own? do you want to own that the vaccine was bad? i don't think so. not long term. it is sketchy which is why trump doesn't own the vaccine, the way he could. he could say, hey, i brought it to you. everybody, look how good everything is because of the vaccine. take it, take it. he doesn't because he got booed in alabama and he knows there are too many in the base he doesn't want to upset. do they want to own removing roe v. wade and telling women from 8 to 80 you ...
