Can intermittent fasting tackle obesity-related inflammation?
Research reviews the effects of two forms of intermittent fasting, time-restricted eating (TRE) and alternate-day fasting (ADF), on body weight and key circulating inflammatory markers (CRP, TNF-alpha, and IL-6) in adults with obesity. The results suggest that intermittent fasting has little or no effect on key inflammatory markers, but more research is needed to confirm these findings.
