Showcasing a yearlong foray into silicon design as the Chinese tech giant seeks to grow beyond digital entertainment.

Internet giant Tencent unveiled on Wednesday its Zixiao artificial intelligence chip, Canghai video transcoding device and Xuanling network interface controller.

Tencent revealed its first chips, as it tries to diversify away from digital entertainment and align its business to objectives set by China's government, including tech self sufficiency.
